Spiritual Direction

As a spiritual director, I offer the gift of presence. I offer companionship on the journey of learning to pay attention to God’s presence. I will also be a witness to your life with God.. All things can be brought to a spiritual direction session, but they will not focus probelm solving but on looking for evidence of God’s presence and activity in those things of daily life.

It is a spiritual discipline to make space for God and to be reminded of His deep love for you. This will be a safe place to stop, look, ask and listen. Together, we will seek out strength and courage in order to find rest for your soul.

Spiritual Direction Sessions are often scheduled to meet regularly (once every 3-6 wks) for about one hour per session. This relationship may be for a single season of your life or may cross many seasons.

Typically, an hour once every 3-6 weeks for a season - perhaps short, perhaps lifelong. This is offered face to face - in person - at Queen’s House or via the internet.

Well-being
check ups

Well-being Checkups are a time for personal debrief when you’re looking to pause, process and find your way through the messiness of life. This will be a safe place to share the part of your story that seems the most relevant.

Using a timeline strategy, we will be able to piece together the major events that have impacted you allowing you to process the losses and grief associated with those events. Along with this, we will recall the ‘wins’ that need to be celebrated.

This will be a time to regroup and check if your projected path is still on target. We will leave space to process desired adjustments and maintain or regain goals.

Time frame: Anywhere from 2 hrs to 4 days.

Sessions include:
- Sharing your story
- Teaching on various topics (determined by your story)
- Exercises, practices, “homework”
- Time to process
- End goal: deeper understanding and growth

A debrief can be one-on-one or in a group.

My Rate: One-on-one debrief: each 90 minute session - $100.00
The ideal would be two 90 minutes sessions.
(PayPal or e-transfer)

Testimonials

Thriving Art Retreat: “The lament meditation was helpful for me as I have been processing loss during the last year. I appreciate Karen's sensitivity and skill in leading the retreats. She has a gift for integrating Scripture and art in a way that helps us hear from God and step forward in healing and faith.”

Thriving Art Retreat: “During the day I felt blessed to allow myself time to think about my personal laments and grief. Bringing the words to the Lord through prayer and art made my grieving feel valued and heard. I was surprised how through liturgy, meditation, and continuous work on my project quiet joy started to rise up in me. I felt that Jesus took my grief, transformed it and changed it into something to his glory.”
